Motel Masquerading as Hotel
Hotel Bishop Arts is essentially an automated Airbnb-style property. It is less a hotel and more a souped up motel in an apartments style complex with a pool. Mostly automated, it works well for the most part. But it lacks details that make one's stay worthwhile. Room furniture and styling is meh. The bed and bath linen are worn out from overuse. The room lacks standard fixtures such as USB ports. The closet in our room had no hangers. Internet codes for one's room do not work outside in common areas of the property (a nuisance). And an electric room freshener was so overpowering and malodorous as if to suppress the smell of mold. Since this is an automated property, there is no housekeeping service. The only thing that works for this property is its location close to the Bishop Arts District.
